Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) controls roughly 40 percent of the national economy through a vast network of companies and foundations. Pakistan’s army does the same: it owns or dominates everything from real estate and industries to banks and construction conglomerates. The structures are mirror images.
